Hamilton Academical FC can today confirm that Ziggy Gordon has left the Club at the end of his contract to pursue a career overseas.

Gordon, an Accies-Academy graduate, joined the club when he was 10 years old. After making his professional debut in 2011, he remained as a regular starter for the club until leaving for Partick Thistle in 2016. Ziggy later went on to play for Polish side Jagiellonia before making his return to Hamilton in 2018. Over both spells he made 202 appearances, scoring 7 goals.

Chairman, Allan Maitland said:

“Ziggy has been a distinguished player at Hamilton and the club recognises his efforts over the years. He was part of our most memorable day in the play-off final against Hibernian in 2014, which saw us rise to Premiership status. We wish him all the best for his future.

He leaves the club on a high after scoring the opening goal in our final game of the season against St Johnstone, which secured our 6th consecutive season in the Scottish Premiership.
