The club is thrilled to have secured the signing of Hakeem Odoffin from fellow Premiership
side Livingston for an undisclosed fee.
The 22-year-old who has previous experience with Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton
Wanderers has signed a deal which will keep him at the club until at least 2021.
Speaking to the club’s website Hakeem said: “It feels really good to finally get the deal done.
Since I got here everyone has been really welcoming. It’s good to get started and prepare for the beginning of the league.”
The wingback believes his time with the West Lothian side has given him the opportunity to
adapt to the Scottish game. He said: “I’ve experienced the league now, I’ve played the
games and it’s something I’m looking to thrive on.
“I want to grow as a player in the team, to play my part and do what I can to be successful as
possible as a club”
Odoffin discussed the influence which Head Coach Brian Rice had on his decision to sign for Accies: “He showed that interest. Since I got here he has been in great communication with me. I know what he wants from me and I’m really looking forward to working under him.”
Head Coach Brian Rice believes Odoffin’s previous Premiership experience can help the
squad. He said: “It’s a young group we have and we need some players who have played at this level to help. He is still a young lad but he’s got some good experience behind him.”
The 22-year-old who played in the Livingston team which defeated Celtic last season is
looking forward to a potential debut against the side. He said: “It’s a big game, we have been working towards it and we are looking forward to it.
Last season definitely gives me confidence, they are a great team any game in this league
you have to believe you can get a result, this is no different.”
Rice has backed the right-back to be a success: “Hakeem is a natural right-back, he’s quick
and he’s got all the attributes we are looking for. I think he will do well for us.”
