u20s on a roll

After a poor start it’s now three straight league wins in a row for the u20s, who defeated Falkirk 1-0 at NDP on Tuesday night. Ryan Tierney scored the only goal in the 9th minute.

RT had a chance just 54 seconds in, Mutch denying him with a great stop, but it wasn’t long before he burst into the area to slot home what proved to be the game’s only goal.

Chances thereafter were few and far between for both sides, despite plenty effort and workrate all round.

Skipper Ronan Hughes suffered an early ankle injury, which lead to 16 year old Taylor Wilson taking over as skipper.

Grant Gillespie got a good 90 minutes under his belt, after being out injured since August, and having had his comeback last week at Ochilview.

Lewis Ferguson was missing, as he was in the Scotland u19 team who played Czech Republic in Esch, Luxembourg on Tuesday afternoon. Marc Kelly also missed out as he was unwell.

Accies – Jamieson, Hughes (c) (J Boyd 15), McCann, Wilson, O’Halloran, Gillespie, Cunningham, Breen, Tierney (Slaven 67), S Boyd, L Smith (Scullion 57). Unused subs Hamilton, Quitongo, R Crawford, Marshall
