The draw for the first two rounds of the Challenge Cup was made today, now sponsored by one of our local companies and advertisers, Tunnocks, and named after their iconic caramel wafer best selling brand.
The Challenge Cup has had many guises over the years and we won it twice in 1991 and 1992 when it was the B&Q Cup, and have been runners up twice.
Now though, as a Premiership club, it’s our u21 side which takes part, alongside the top four from Lowland and Highland Leagues, the SPFL Championship, League 1 and League 2 teams, and two clubs each from Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, England and Wales (albeit one of England’s representatives, from the Conference, are Wrexham).
The draw for the first two rounds was made today (26th June) –
Round 1 – Tuesday 6th August (likely) / Wednesday 7th August
Accies u21 v BSC Glasgow
Round 2 – Tuesday 13th / Wednesday 14th August
Accies u21 or BSC Glasgow v Airdrieonians
