Sam Stubbs feels he’s adapted well to the Scottish game and looks forward to the future.
Stubbs, Who joined the club on a season-long loan from English Championship side Middlesborough is relishing more game time to continue his development at the heart of the Accies defence.
Speaking to the clubs website he said: “It’s been great so far, I’ve settled in nicely. We’re only a handful of games in to the season but I feel we’ve got a great bunch of lads here to get the results we need.”
“The win against Kilmarnock and draw against Hearts are two games that stand out so far but we’ve got a long way to go.”
Usually centre-halfs build up partnerships with other defenders but Sam seems to have found a closer link between himself and Welsh shot-stopper Owain Fôn Williams. “On and off the park Owain’s the nicest guy you could meet, We understand each other well and I really enjoy having him between the sticks, I guess you could say we’ve got a good partnership.”
When asked about life after his loan spell he said: “I’ll just need to see how well I do at Hamilton first of all, My priority right now is here and when the time comes that I need to make a decision on my future I’ll make sure it’s the right choice for me but at this moment in time my mind is on keeping clean sheets and winning games for Accies.”
Brian Rice’s men play Livingston on Saturday and Sam knows that’s no easy fixture. “Livingston are a strong and physical side, We know that we need to be our best to get the three points on the day and that’s exactly what we will set up to do.”
