We are delighted to announce the return of Tony Andreu on loan from Coventry City until the end of the season.
The Frenchman played a pivotal role in Accies promotion season in 2013-14; scoring 13 league goals and earning himself a nomination for PFA Player of the Year and, with it, a place in the PFA Team of the Season.
Unforgettably, Tony added a further two goals to his tally in the Premiership play-offs; scoring the winner against Falkirk in the semi-finals before notching the 2nd goal on that famous day at Easter Road.
The 30 year old attacking midfielder continued his form the following season in the Premiership with 12 goals in 23 appearances before our No.22 followed former manager Alex Neil to Norwich City.
He enjoyed loan spells at Rotherham United and Dundee United before joining Coventry City on a permanent deal in the summer of 2017.
But now Andreu returns to Accies for a second spell.
Manager Martin Canning said: ‘’Naturally we’re delighted to bring Tony back to the club. It’s a signing that will give everyone around the place a real lift.’’
‘’We wanted to add quality at the top end of the pitch and we know Tony has that. I obviously know him well and I’m looking forward to working with him again – he’s a top professional with a great attitude and he’s only going to drive up the standard amongst the group in training and in games.’’
‘’We know we need players who can contribute straight away and that’s what we’re adding. When you’ve a guy like Tony in your side and on the pitch, you always know he’s capable of scoring a goal.’’
Keep an eye on AcciesTV (@acciesfc and on the club website) later today for Tony’s first interview since his return to the club.
