Accies striker Mickel Miller has opened up on his delight at finally being back in the team fully fit and scoring goals.

Miller said: “It’s a great feeling, I can’t thank everyone who helped me get back on the pitch
enough, I was determined to come back and perform to help the team.”

For any footballer, a good pre-season is vital to set you up for the season. However, when injury stops you from getting up to speed it can be difficult.

The striker agrees: “It’s really important to get a good pre-season as it sets you up for the campaign, obviously I didn’t, when I came in, I felt like I was playing catch up. Now though I feel up to speed.”

Miller has praised the strong and healthy competition in his position and the positive effect that has had on him since he returned from injury.

He said: “Competition for places is strong here, every day you have to be giving your all and if you start slacking there are two or three players ready to take your place, I like that I think it has helped me become more developed.”

Last time out against Kilmarnock Miller really hit top form with a goal of the season contender and an assist as we drew 2-2. With that, some may argue the international break came at the wrong time for the attacker.

However, Miller disagrees: “I can see why people think that but personally, I am always
working hard, if I have some off time or not, I will keep up my momentum and confidence in
training.”

Looking ahead to our next game Miller has backed him and his team to go out and give their all.

He said: “The odds will be against us, it’s always difficult against Rangers, we have to take this opportunity to show what we can do. Last time out we were disappointed but here it’s a different game, if we stick together and work hard we will make it very difficult for them.”
