The club is delighted to announce that academy graduate Lewis Smith has been called up for international duty.

The 19-year-old, who has been part of the youth system here since he was 9, has been chosen by Scott Gemmill for the upcoming U21 UEFA Qualifiers.

Smith, who made his first-team debut against Aberdeen in October 2018, has been part of Brian Rice’s plans since the head coach took over the role in January 2019.

Academy Director, George Cairns says: “This is massive for both the football club and Lewis. It’s a great example of our youth academy that yet again we’ve had another player called up for international duty. The last time we had an outfield player selected for Scotland u21s was Eamonn Brophy and he’s gone on to be capped for the Scotland first-team, so the opportunity is now there for Smithy”.

Scotland u21s play San Marino on the 5th September at Paisley, and then a trip to Croatia on 10th September.
