Dougie Imrie post match

Website reporter caught up with Dougie Imrie after the game, and we’ll have Greg Docherty’s comments on Tuesday…

Dougie Imrie drew us level from the spot and was at the heart of post match controversy, after he was knocked  to the ground by Motherwell defender Peter Hartley, who was red carded. But afterwards Imrie preferred to focus on a job well done and great Accies team performance.

“I didn’t see what happened!. I could go into a million things, but let’s not make it silly. We came here to get the job done, and three points is massive for us. It gets us closer to the teams above and sets us up for a good game back here in January. All we wanted to do was celebrate in front of our fans.”

“It’s a derby and we had to be up for the fight. We didn’t start the game the way we wanted, going behind in the first few minutes. But I thought after that I thought we were fantastic, goalkeeper right through to striker.

“In the second half I thought we were different class. They had some good spells, but I thought we ran over the top of them, and they couldn’t live with our pace down the flanks and Greg’s goal was fantastic. “
